DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – In the first months of 2024, the Northland Foundation has awarded more than half a million dollars through its Quarterly Grant program. There were also nine special opportunity grants to help child care programs across the region.
Quarterly grants are generally grants of ten thousand dollars or more to nonprofit organizations, Tribal Nations, local governmental agencies, educational institutions and school districts.
Nearly half of the recent grant dollars went toward basic needs such as food security, housing and homeless services, services to help older adults and health and wellness.
Another $147,000 of recent grants are contributing to out-of-school time programming for children and youth.
The Northland Foundations works within northeastern Minnesota counties and area native nations.
