SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – Superior Police were called to the 2400 block of Ogden Avenue around 9:20 p-m on Sunday.
The caller stated that a man familiar to them was walking around their garage and shining a flashlight in the windows.
As officers arrived, they heard multiple gunshots being fired but could not determine where they were coming from.
As they approached the garage, officers located the reporting party attempting to help a man who was lying on the floor.
Officers determined that the man sustained several gunshot wounds and died the result of his injuries.
The suspect had fled the scene prior to the officers arrival.
With the assistance of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office the suspect was apprehended several hours later at an Iron River residence.
The suspect was identified as Aaron Donald Johnson who was charged Tuesday with 1st degree intentional homicide, recklessly endangering safety and burglary while armed with a dangerous weapon.
Johnson is being held in the Douglas County Jail on a million dollar cash bail.
